Answer for Mylar Thickness
by: Anonymous

Hi Nick,
So Sorry I'm just getting back to you. I just had time to check out the thickness of the stencil film that I have used. I actually had to pull the packets I have to see what the thickness is since it has been so long since I thought about that. The oneI used most was from Graphix and it is .005" or .127mm thick. But I suggest you experiment with a couple of different thicknesses to see what works best for you. I don't use films too much any more because I usually just print a design and then cover the top of the page with a clear sheet of contact paper. I'm not sure what your project is but that might make things easier. I hope this helps and if not just write back with any questions. Thank so much for visiting!

Mylar thickness question
by: Nick

Hi, firstly I have to say how much I love your website and sooo much information too. It comes across how passionate you are about stencilling.
I have one question and I apologise if it is on your site, but I just can't find it. I have found a source of Mylar here in the UK, but what thickness should I use and what determines why one thickness would be better than another?
Thank you in advance and best regards Nick
