About Us

Well, to be honest, “About Us” is really about me! I’m the only one here -at least for now, anyway. I started designing stencils many years ago for my own use and enjoyment. It was just a fun hobby until I decided to put a collection together and publish them in book format. And presto! Hobby turned into obsession.

Here I am, twenty stencil pattern books later. I decided that I wanted to share my stencils with any one interested so I started a web site ( www.designsfrompenny.com ). The web site opened a door for me to communicate with other stencil artists. I started to get a lot of questions about stenciling and noticed some interest from folks who have never tried it before. So, I began to write down my experiences and what I learned from all my time working with stencils. After compiling all this information, it became clear that I needed to put it out where it can help people get as excited about creating art with stencils as I am. So, that’s the whole story behind All-About-Stencils.com.

As you visit different pages in the site you may realize that I like to keep things simple. I don’t use a lot of complicated steps with specialized products. I think it’s best to stick with the basics. My training as a Mechanical Draftsman taught me to find solutions and fit pieces together. I guess that and a little creativity has landed me in stencil design. Well, all I have left to say is that I hope this site gives you all the information you are looking for and that you are now motivated to create some great works of art with stencils!
